Current Skincare Favourites!

Hey everyone!

Sorry that I've been a little inactive recently, I've been travelling between home and where I live when I'm at Uni for a few weeks and haven't really had any time to sit down and write a detailed blog post on anything really. But I have more time on my hands now, and so I thought I'd let you know what I'm using and what I think about my current Skincare faves!

I'm always on the hunt for something that is going to make my skin clearer, as I suffer often from breakouts and also from oily skin. My breakouts can occur from anything such as my diet, if I'm stressed or if I've started to use a new make-up or skincare product that doesn't agree with my skin.

So lets get started!

"Biore's Warming Anti-Blackhead Cleanser".
In the past I have experimented with Biore's Nose strips for removing Blackheads and dirt from the skin, but I found them too harsh for me. But recently I have been using a few of their other face products, and I love them! I use their 'Warming Anti-Blackhead Cleanser' when I'm in the shower as that's when my pores are most open. It feels like any other cleanser when you put it onto your fingertips, but as soon as it touches your wet face, it instantly warms up to open up your pores and get all of the dirt out of them. This cleanser is also somewhat a scrub as it has really fine micro-beads in it which will help bring everything to the surface and buff the skin. Not only does this leave my skin feeling extremely clean and refreshed, but it smells of Watermelon! And for me, that's a plus point! I use it about three times a week, but I don't think it's harsh on the skin, and so you could probably get away with using it more than that. I began to notice a difference in my skin about a week and a half in to using this.

"Biore's Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser".
Sticking with Biore, this is something I picked up from Boots the other day as all Biore products were a third off their normal price. The 'Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser' is designed to remove over 99% of oil and dirt from the skin that causes breakouts and blemishes. I noticed an improvement in my skin almost instantly when I began using this! It has a cooling feel to it and leaves the skin feeling refreshed. At first I could see it controlling the amount of oil my skin produced, and then after a weeks worth of using this it was actively fighting my spots and reducing the amount that I have. For the first time in a while I have been confident enough to go out without much make-up on thanks to this. One piece of advice that I would give you would be do not get this ANYWHERE near your eyes. It stings. It burns. You will cry. And the pain lasts a considerable amount of time! It doesn't have the same scent as the Warming Cleanser, but the results it gives you and the way it feels on the skin are incredible. I use this both morning and evening, as I have begun to notice slight dry patches on my skin, but I am balancing this out with a moisturiser.

"Clearasil Daily Clear Superfruits Oil & Shine Wash".
I picked this face wash up when I was at home one weekend as I had forgotten to bring  my arsenal of skincare back with me. I was looking for something that I could use in both the morning and the evening and wouldn't be too harsh on my skin. The Lemon and Lime extracts in this leave my skin feeling refreshed and clean. and the face wash itself helps to remove any make-up debris that I may not have been able to remove or that I had missed. I don't use this product everyday, but when I feel like my skin needs a little balancing as it's getting too oily, I'll pull this out of the cupboard and almost overnight my skin is back in a better condition. I use about a pump and a half this and use it all over my face and neck. It gives you that tingly feeling once you've removed it, and leaves your skin feeling clean and not tight in the slightest.

"LUSH Vanishing Cream Moisturiser".
I was given a sample of this recently in LUSH when I went in to get some advice on the best facial moisturiser for myself. I wanted something calming, as my skin can get quite red after I have removed all of my make-up and done all of my cleansing routine. I was recommended this for a few reasons, one of which being the fact that it has Lavender Honey Water in it, which has cooling and soothing properties as well as being an antiseptic. This is great for my skin as I have oily an oily and blemish prone complexion, so the antiseptic qualities will clean and remove impurities from my skin, as well as the fact that I mentioned my skin can get quite red and raw so the Lavender will calm this down. I must say I am not keen on the smell, to be honest, I detest the smell of Lavender! But the effects that this product have had on my skin far outweigh the minor factor of the smell. This moisturises my skin without making it even more oily, and you really don't need a lot of this when applying it. It sinks in the to the skin almost instantly, and feels incredibly light! I noticed that my skin was looking much calmer after just a few applications of this, and so I will be purchasing a full size of this when I have used up all of my other moisturisers!

"St Ives Blemish Fighting Facial Scrub".
Old faithful! I will never be without this. I have used this for years and years and it really helps when I have a bad crop of spots forming. It is grainy enough that I feel like it is actually doing work, but not harsh enough that I feel like I have just scrubbed my entire face off! I feel like these last a really long time, and the smell isn't off-putting at all. This works incredibly well on the T-zone and doesn't try your skin out or leave it aching. I have tried a few of the other St Ives Scrubs, but I will always come back to this one. This will always be a favourite of mine!

That's it for my current Skincare favourites! I hope this post has been helpful for you if you're looking for something new or wanted to know how a certain product is.
Do you have any recommendations for oily or blemish prone skin? What is your holy grail skincare item? I'm always looking to try things out!

Thanks for reading!
